So it is the start of a new year again. You and I are contemplating all the ways that this year is going to be different than last year. What changes need to be made, where we are going to travel and finally losing that last ten pounds.
I propose something smaller than that. We always remember the ways that made last year bad, but we almost never remember the ways that it was possibly the greatest year of our lives.
For this year, try remembering the small moments that were good. Look for ways to record the fleeting moments that make life sweet, but that so easily vanish from memory. Expressing and recalling your feelings amplifies the effect of happy experiences.
Or just take a lot of pictures over the year and don’t keep them in your phone… print them out and make a collage or put them on your wall to remember the happy times!
So sure, participate in an Iron-man competition… hike up Mount Kilimanjaro, but don’t forget to share a sunset with someone, eat a bowl of your favorite childhood cereal or just live in the moment of today… and Enjoy It!
